Aroha Groves’ Connections2 short-listed for national award

ACVA is pleased to announce the public opening of Connections2 by Aroha Groves. Her installation takes up the whole of our SIM and was shortlisted for the 27th Telstra National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Art Award, receiving a highly commended mark from the judges.

Aroha's ground-breaking work investigates the links that bind our continent together, her people's connection to the country, and the expansion of these connections via digital mediums.

You can visit the installation here (requires a Second Life account and application), and view a video if you don't have access.

View all the winners and finalists here, and don't forget to vote in the People's Choice Awards!

Great work ACVA and Aroha Groves! Your current show continues to expand our awareness of virtual spaces and their potential for purely aesthetic experience.
