(Un)seen Sculptures – Mobile Augmented Reality Art Show

A series of invisible sculptures and art installations are invading Melbourne’s public spaces and cultural institutions. The works, by local and international artists, use mobile phones and a purpose-built downloadable app to transform real-world locations into interactive installations.

Locations include (outside) The Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, National Gallery of Victoria, Federation Square, Melbourne Museum, Fitzroy Gardens, and many more.

20 groups of artists are participating in the event, including MoMA ‘art invaders’ Manifest.AR.

(Un)seen Sculptures launches in Melbourne on the 14th of May, 2011. Visit their site for more information on where and how you can view the works.

This is a small opinion piece I wrote about Australian virtual world art and mobile augmented reality. There is a bit about (un)seen sculptures. Would love any feedback/comments/critique.

Cheers,

Ricardo
